There is no doubt that any organisation which works with people will have discrimination. Yes, the tall poppy syndrome does exist. Yes, we do need to use our own people more. But we need also to get over our fear of what other people think of us as Salvationist, and get on doing what God has called us to do. No matter what other people think of us (even if they belong to the same denomination as us), we must use our gifts to glorify God.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27358564.post-56724383750565277812008-11-06T20:50:00.000+11:002008-11-06T20:50:00.000+11:00There is very much a tall poppy syndrome culture ...There is very much a tall poppy syndrome culture in the Salvation Army.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27358564.post-14405189969315382492008-10-30T20:28:00.000+11:002008-10-30T20:28:00.000+11:00SL - I'm sure your idea is good. i get support and...SL - I'm sure your idea is good. i get support and ideas from soldiers all the time. But maybe ...It does indeed sound good Commissioner. But maybe the Army could better tap into the "business leaders" and "professionals" we have in our ranks already [i.e. Soldiers.]

Many of them don't offer, because at times being a successful professional is frowned on within the Army and they have a "realistic" view of the world, which differs to the "idealistic" view the Army often clings too.

I bet many of them are just waiting to be approached by the Army's leadership to use their business/professional skills to help the mission of the Army.

SLAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27358564.post-24414628291751319852008-10-29T20:06:00.000+11:002008-10-29T20:06:00.000+11:00Homelessness and affordable housing.Homelessness and affordable housing.Jim Knaggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17499726854970549456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27358564.post-45594774774258628372008-10-29T17:46:00.000+11:002008-10-29T17:46:00.000+11:00Sounds good Commissioner - what social problem did...Sounds good Commissioner - what social problem did we raise?
