We used to do a lot of collecting in those days to supplement our salary. (Once a week standing in the main street for starters, when I recall having the opportunity to witness to a man who hoped to be among 144,000 who would go to heaven. I reminded him of the "number that no-one could count" and told him that I had received assurance that I would be there.) Conditions for officers have improved since then, but really the work was just the same and I did not resent the collecting. I used those times to talk to people about the Lord. I met some long time residents of Rochester recently who spoke warmly about the Army and who had obviously taken note of the life of someone who was "changed" at the Army. That gave me food for thought.<BR/>Commissioner I think we do need prompting from time to time to get us going, take connections as an example.
