Opinions

It's amazing to me in a conversation, how quickly a person will be to offer an opinion. Truly, we're under no compulsion to even have an opinion on every subject known to man. I am amused when a few close friends refuse to get into Footy talk at all. They exercise good sense in simply saying how the subject doesn't interest them.

There are some subjects we should weigh in on, but let us remember that our opinions aren't necessarily the word of God. Where we can clearly reveal the truths of the gospel in conversation, we should. Where it's not so clear, we need to be certain that we balance our thinking as opinion. We might be right, and then again...

2 Peter 1:20 (MSG)
20 The main thing to keep in mind here is that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of private opinion.

hey !
So I've been hanging out with Jon this week, (We saw batman lastnight) and he was telling me that you guys are heading this way! AND you are going to be here for TAM! That is so exciting. I can't wait to see you guys.
Please keep me in your prayers. I have been to the doctors today and I have to go through some testings this week. I have been sick for about 5 weeks now. So they are trying to figure out what is wrong with me.
Well can't wait to see yoU!

College was good for me on this issue. I learnt that my opinion was not needed (and sometimes not wanted)in every situation. There was always enough people with enough thoughts and words on issues to be both belpful and hurting. All in good learning (but that's just my... lol)

If the commissioner wants your opinion, he'll give it to you.

An interesting idea - yes there are times when we need to stand up and be counted, and there are time to say nothing. Opinions can be important. I understand the current General has rewritten an Army publication and what is of real interest had the previous version proscribed. All copies are to be removed and destroyed. Now on whose opinion is this based? Graham

Graham - what is the name of the publication in question? Why has the general taken this action, if your understanding is accurate?
