What are friends for?

Look around. See a friend? Do you see a friend in trouble or with a particular need? Then help them. That's what friends are for.

Is your friend a Christian? Encourage them. Lead your friend to Jesus. That's what friends are for.

Can't actually help your friend by yourself? Get some help and get the right kind. That's what friends are for.

The more you support your friend, the better friend you'll become.

John 15:13 (NIV)
13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

TC - have always enjoyed your blog and thank you for being faithful to what God has called you to do. I love this verse and it really challenges my thinking that, yes I would lay down my life for my friends, but the question to really ask is, who is my friend outside my circle of friends. Is the homeless man my friend, is the prisioner my friend is the person who gives me trouble my friend. Yes, yes and yes.

I am relying on friends in this way at this time in my life, and am grateful to God for them.

My "friends" are few and far between these days. I'm grateful for those few.
