Praying

Prayer is a great place to live. I wish we could simply appoint people to pray. It would be the most important appointment of every soldier and the most delightful. Even when we're praying through difficulties, there is the presence of God. There is the life-giving flow of love to the extreme. Hallelujah!

Come with me on a journey of prayer and dependence upon God, whose capacity is unlimited and whose concern is unconditional. He desires to be the focus of our hearts so that we would be fulfilled in glorifying Him. Yes!

Let us pray.

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Thanks heaps. Prayer is a wonderful thing. You can pray whenever, where ever and what ever way you are feeling. God loves us to be just the way we are when we pray.

Prayer is what kicked started the Army by William Booth. Let prayer continue to empower us into the future.

Good work Jim. Bless you!

I've often wondered why we don't appoint Prayer Sergeants in corps...to raise the profile of prayer, equip people and encourage them in the most crucial part of our Christian life.

Maybe you could put a word in with the General ;o)

There are some people within our realm who simply resonate with prayer, it is their language and they take such deep and profound connection from it. It is our deepest privelege our unlimited source of grace and strength.
Deep felt words from your post today...thank you!

Appointed to pray? Hmmm...it has a nice ring to it. And why not? It makes complete sense.

What an indicator of maturity and priority it would be for The Army to release a cadre of gifted, discerning intercessors completely to the labour of prayer; to stand before God (as a job!) to intercede for the sake of the mission; to be the spiritual eyes and ears of the Army in the War - a kind of military intelligence.

Not that this lets the rest of us soldiers off the hook - the work of prayer is ours as well - but it gives focus and, I think, will build prophetic boldness back into our movement.

I like it. Let's do it, and gird ourselves for the results...
