National Brengle Institute

At any reference to Commissioner Samuel Logan Brengle, one begins to think of holiness. His life and writings have taught and inspired many of us on our journey of faith. God raised him up to crystallize our thinking and understanding on this beaut experience for us all.

In the next week to ten days, delegates from all over Australia have joined together for an opportunity to explore the word of God on the subject of the "second blessing" and will draw near to the Lord in holy expectation and openness. It will be a most satisfying experience and one that will reveal God's powerful love in them. Hallelujah!

We met with them last night at the Geelong Conference Centre. I love how God sends the right people at the right time. As you kneel before the Father this week, think of these faithful ones and let's support their blessing.

1 Peter 1:16 (MSG)
16 God said, "I am holy; you be holy."

It's great that our leaders get together to dicuss these things, but what about our soldiers and other congregational members? Why can't we give access to discussion on theological topics to everyone? So many people are confused or don't know about the salvation army's theology. There's a conference down at geelong this month i think that i would love to go to, but at $150 is not an option. Could we explore the posibility of having regular forums where people can meet with salvation army leaders to discuss topics such as theology and mission? A corp could hold this and the cost to people would be significantly lower giving access to many people who usually couldn't afford it, especially young salvationists. This would give many in the salvation army the opportunity to discover more about what we believe and our mission, which would be especially good for younger people. What's your thought commisioner??? What's everyone else's thoughts?

I recall that our Officer's used Samuel Logan Brengle themes for a teaching series, when I was a teenager.

Having been to a National brengle Institute in Geelong, I will be praying for the delegates.

Sadly, the Eastern Territory won a Ten Pin Bowling tornament, and received the Trophy of the SHOE.

A - Good points. We do have a series of things one can connect to. I see ACC as one of these etc...

B - So what is the trophy of the shoe?

When the Bowling Tornament was arranged, as a social night, one of our fine officers mounted a black shoe on some timber as the trophy. Reflecting the shoes that Brengle was asked to clean.
Humility for the winner!

Im going to buy into this aswell.

I really believe we need to get stronger on teaching our theology to soldiers. I think aarond idea is great.

ACC is a great confrence but it is expensive and most of it is during the day when people are at work.

Can we explore the idea of more Brengle institutes for soldiers please?

Fine idea. It's going to need some work. The existing Institute is 10 days and way more expensive than the $150 that Aaron objected to.

So we need another not expensive model to look at.
