Partners in the Battle

We share with many people and institutions, the battle for souls in the kingdom. The fight isn't, of course among ourselves, but against the enemy and for the hearts of brothers and sisters to be. These institutions include social agencies, churches, para church organisations and educational institutions to name a few. Where it starts and where it finishes is up to us.

In a day when resources seem more limited than ever, these partnerships are one way to maximise our efforts and leverage the existing strength we already have. I reckon we should always look towards partnerships in our endeavors to serve the Lord. It actually sounds scriptural.

2 Corinthians 1:24 (MSG)
24 We're not in charge of how you live out the faith, looking over your shoulders, suspiciously critical. We're partners, working alongside you, joyfully expectant. I know that you stand by your own faith, not by ours.

Amen.
We have much to offer and much to learn.
Together the whole church is more - she is beautiful in her diversity. I'm in.

It seems like such a dream to have even the Salvation Army's social and corps settings work together totally.
But wouldnt it be great if all the churches could work together with one aim... To Win the World for Christ.
Lets give it a try.

Darren, a few weeks ago all six churches in our small town were joined in a combine service on a Sunday morning. These services happen about four times a year. It is great to see. As for the Army's social and corps working together???? This is still a long way off. While we divide them at THQ level they will never work at the lower levels.

Darren, all the churches are working together with the one aim, however while we each hold to a distinctive which says "God raised up the.....to....." then we have a problem.

It is splendid & JESUS is glorified when the Bride of Christ shines with one heart beat the glory of God . It becomes a sad statement when we become critical of other expressions of genuine 'CHRIST CENTRED 'expressions that are differing to the way we think "IT" should be. I take great heart that JESUS has not given up on His people & thus that sets the benchmark for me .

Hi bloggers,
One day a lot of Australia "Christians" will wake up to discover there has been a mosque just around the corner literally, or a temple for Buddists for the last 20 years.
Regrdless of sectarian or doctrinal issues Western Christians will be required to unite in order to survive as a major expression of spirituality in the "Christian West."
I'm a Sydney Salvationist.
