I have been fortunate in education, and took a deep interest in Philosophy when I was at Melbourne University; the key to heaven is not through Peter but through Peter’s affirmation of faith, believing faith which might lead to a state of saved by grace. The demons believe and tremble.
With due respect, does the word "convinced" mean "believe or know"? Because "I am convinced", might well mean that I believe subject too..... I fear and with respect say that a "common argument across a few denominations" can mean "a belief as against knowledge.
But as a simple Braybrook Iron factory boy:
2 Timothy 1:12 "... nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, And am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed Unto him against that day."
May I persuade Salvationists to know and not argue? The doctrine referred to is a tenet of belief embodied in the ethics of the movement and has nothing to do with saved by grace. A simple confusion. To know is: "I know" to believe is "subject too"...., hence this endlessly boring rearranging of the Titanic deckchairs.. You either know or you don"t fun dontcha think?Happy Easter I know that my redeemer liveth.
Just because someone posts an article with their opinion online doesn't mean that they are right. I could post that the Collingwood football team are actually all aliens, but it doesn't mean it's true.

Thanks, David. This is a common argument across a few denominations. I'm convinced our position is Biblically solid.

David,
