John 19:30 (NIV)
30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

I read today in EDWJ of the greek word tetelestai - paid in full. I like the explaination of the translation Selwyn Hughes gives also - the tense of tetelestai translates: 'it has been and will forever remain finished'. Amen to that! Thank you LORD!
