Youth Leaders

Having met briefly with many of the youth leaders in the territory this week, I'm inclined to restate the obvious. They are leaders. Their importance in our movement cannot be overstated. As I listened to them, I became more convinced of the veracity of their faith and the passion of their hearts. They are creatively engaged in warfare against the enemy in the name of Christ. Hallelujah!

Remember...they're leaders.

1 Peter 5:5 (MSG)
5 And you who are younger must follow your leaders. But all of you, leaders and followers alike, are to be down to earth with each other, for— God has had it with the proud, But takes delight in just plain people.

They are our future but they also leaders now in a movement that needs energy and creativity. They don't always conform, but many continue to transform the communities they embrace. Let's continue to support & encourage them. Thanks Jim for all you do in this regard:)

The Salvation Army wouldnt be in the situation it is in today if they had have allowed those (particularly young people) who did not wish to conform some space to be creative. Instead they were pushed out of our ranks. We need to protect and guard those whom God has splaced his Spirit and given a new vision and new ways of doing things (or old ways revisited)

Some of us who dont fit into the box still hang on by our toes trying to fit into the box waiting for the day when we dont have to fit into the box anymore.
Maybe its coming - who knows....

We pray tat the future round of field changes will give some acknowledgment to the way people operate and match this with their appointments... so hard to squash passion and vision.

I was certainly inspired by the few I caught up with whilst they were here. It was so good to here stories of how kids are being reached in the community and it so good that they can shine light to some of those in the deepest darkest recesses of the Earth.

Praise Jesus for the his work in and through the Youth Leaders!

We are so, so blessed with the youth leaders at our corps. Let's make sure we keep them by encouraging them, not discouraging them!
