Welcome Home MSB

The Melbourne Staff Band returned home to THQ officially last night for their regular weekly rehearsal. Although I don't know how long they've been rehearsing elsewhere, they sounded great in the new band room or music room, as they share it with the MSS. Complete for the rehearsal was the visit of Bandmaster emeritus, Colin Woods, B/M Ken Waterworth (on leave) and guest conductor, Lt. Colonel Robert Redhead. For the record, the first piece the band played in the room was Reflections in Nature by Robert Redhead. It'll become a trivia question.

Let the record reveal that the MSB is important to the territory and to the Kingdom of God. The witness of their music reaches much further than the walls of their concert halls. Hallelujah!

Psalms 27:6 (MSG)
6 God holds me head and shoulders above all who try to pull me down. I'm headed for his place to offer anthems that will raise the roof! Already I'm singing God-songs; I'm making music to God.

Oops...another typo, TC!
Colon should read 'Colin'

Another trivia question...

Captain Mark Bearcroft led devotions at the rehearsal based on Isaiah 40, vs 29-31

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

It's nice to be home!

Thanks again Anon. I appreciate your editing skills.

Darren, How long has it been since the MSB rehearsed in their band room at THQ?

I say them when they were in the states. Your lucky to have such a good band. My Corps has an accordion band and piano player.

please feel free to make your own jokes.

Welcome to the MSB....we have had the pleasure of using our new room for the last few weeks and its great to finally have a home (we've never had one!!)..... We hope that both groups will enjoy this room and continue to work at making music to glorify God and bring people into His Kingdom.

TC - We have been rehearsing at Doncaster corps for 7 years. We are grateful to the corps for their support and consideration during that time.
