Envoys

With the transition of the Lieutenants rank, we have increased our population of Envoys in the territory. Many of them came this weekend to the Geelong Conference Centre for a retreat and reorientation opportunity. Each of them are beautifully committed and serving full on in officer appointments. With the continuing shortage of officers, we wouldn't be doing nearly as well without them. This is, without question, a good form of service by great people.

Looking for such an opportunity? Seek the Lord and speak with your Divisional Commander. Let's see what God has in mind.

Proverbs 13:17 (NIV)
17 A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy brings healing.

God bless the envoys! Thanks Jim for your commendation of this essential group of officers. They are, as you say, great people serving fully in officer appointments. It's a shame that this hasn't always been recognised and that some have occasionally been designated 'second class' or had their commitment challenged. I hope we see many more people open to this and other pathways into leadership in The Salvation Army.

this is a sign of lay people becoming as integral a part of the future of the Army as officers. It is time to blur the line between the two.

Commissioner Thankyou for your leadership of Sundays worship together, it was the Word from God that we needed to hear and it almost seemed at times that it was just you, God and us in that room.
Thanks again.
