These are the perfect days to consider the love of God. Many people fast in these days preceding Easter to draw closer to God and to demonstrate devotion. It seems to me that this would be just a good idea for every day.

What ways do you draw closer to God and show your devotion to Him?

Proverbs 14:34 (MSG)
34 God-devotion makes a country strong; God-avoidance leaves people weak.

Fasting is a regular discipline for me during the year, fasting on Fridays. Yet for me, the fasting is not the greatest blessing. The sacrifice of going without food or a particular food is not the blessing, it is what you replace it with. Additional study of the scripture, especially of one portion of Scripture in a repeated fashion has been the deepest area of growth for me concerning fasting. This year during Lent the passage is Philippians 3:7-11. It works its way through what I do, what I'm thinking. Thes ermons and Bible studies I prepare.
God present in everyday routines, such as meal preparation.
