Uluru, also known as Ayer's Rock was worth the journey. Located close to the centre of the country and 800+ kilometers from Coober Pedy, it rises up out of the centre of the earth to make quite an impressive scene. The Indigenous People see it as sacred ground and many precautions are taken to protect them in their beliefs.
The Melbourne Staff Songsters gathered at the foot of the Rock to see the sun set and it's light changing affect on the Rock itself. They sang 4 songs including Let Your Presence Fall on Me, I Woke Up This Morning With My Mind Stayed on Jesus, and a Scriptural Benediction that sanctified the moment for us all and for those who were onlookers nearby. God drew us together and sealed the experience in our hearts. Hallelujah!
Matthew 16:16 (NIV)
16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Stop it, you're making me homesick now. We loved our 3 years in the Alice and surrounding area and are always thrilled to hear how well things are going there. Coober Pedy is fascinating and Uluru is just mesmerising. Keep away from the public toliets though!
Enjoy the journey and please tell the folks at Alice that the Crowden's send their love (assuming you're going there).

Well Sandy, we're not done yet...arrived in Alice tonight.
Jim, sorry for not being technically advanced, but want to let you and Carolyn know that we are remembering you in our prayers this day and imagining in our minds eye the scenery you are experiencing. Blessings.
