Calmly, respectfully, faithfully, think of God's love. He created you for life filled with hope, joy and truth. This starts with our free choices. Love does not manipulate and God is love. The personal choice is incredibly important. Why did he put the one tree in the garden of Eden? All of us would be still in the garden, had he not, but it would have been as like puppets.
God love us too much to remove our choice to love Him. You don't have to love Him, but you should. His love is demonstrated in innumerable terms, beginning with the death of Christ on the cross. Can you think on these things? It will clear your mind and settle your heart. Hallelujah!
Romans 5:8 (MSG)
8 But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.

"There is not sufficient love and goodness in the world to permit us to give some of it away to imaginary beings"
Friedrich Nietzsche
Too bad Nietzsche didn't believe in fairy tales. I know many children that love Santa Claus. And still have much love left over to give to their doll babies, pets, parents and siblings. I have found where the real lack of love originates is within me when I am in crisis. And thank God, I know I have many external brothers and sisters that have enough love to send my way when that happens. Sense it.
I can recall the birth of my second child. My first was Sarah and God filled me with a love for her that was greater than any innate supply. But when Nicholas was born 20 months later, I wondered if I was capable to love another as well. I felt that the love I had for Sarah would need to be halved, how else could it be? I guess this is what Nietzsche had in his mind when he penned his thoughts.
But I have found that God gave me another bowl of love for another. He who is Love, increased my capacity, pushed out my boundaries to also encompass another. I also noticed that the more I relied on our heavenly Father and sought His wisdom, the more I became a channel for His love to reach others. I am not always gracious, and have at times been a restricted or block channel of His love to others, but I know that if I am open to His love for me, He can increase my capacity to love the unlovable.
May it be so!
Brett.
God's greatest gift to us is choice. What is up to us is how we use this gift.
Capt David.
