Hillsong Church Helps

We have been the grateful recipients of the generosity of many people, groups, corporations and churches. The Hillsong Church is one of these contributors where they have given over $150,000 towards the Victoria Bushfire Relief and Recovery. We have shared our thanks through Pastor Brian Houston who conveys an authentic Christian spirit in the giving.

Other churches too like the Anglican Church of Melbourne and elsewhere have too joined in the bushfire effort. Of course my limitation here by not listing all supporting churches leaves many unrecognised. I assure you, that was never their intent for giving.

Together, we form a formidable force in the name of Jesus. Sounds like a good plan.

Philippians 1:27 (MSG)
27 Meanwhile, live in such a way that you are a credit to the Message of Christ. Let nothing in your conduct hang on whether I come or not. Your conduct must be the same whether I show up to see things for myself or hear of it from a distance. Stand united, singular in vision, contending for people's trust in the Message, the good news,

Very cozy and fluffy knowing that we all share "saved by grace" if we so choose.
I know about "Hill song": slick marketing and feel good.
Still 150K is 150K.
Hillsong is very primitive Army in a fashion, lottsa noise lottsa fun hands in the air, one up man ship Spirituality.

I"m content with saved by grace.

I’m led to believe the TC is very much Gods man, May our God of all grace and understanding bless the TC.
I stood on a hilltop with a Mongolian altar on top as the wind whistled through the flags fluttering , my protocol officer said “you must throw a stone make a wish to the Spirits of the Wind and walk around three times. My father said, “My son do you believe this “? I answered “no, but it does give me a lovely spot to reflect on grace”. The Lord will separate the wheat from the tares. Thank you TC for taking up the strain and heat of the day.

Hillsong church is a fantastic church that seeks to help humanity both spiritually and physically, why do people always have to knock the tall poppy ?

in my experiecne most who criticise the hillsong churhc have never been there and simply just dont know all they do.

I think its awesoem that the body of Christ on earth is unifying tohelp suffering humanity which of course is one of our SDalkvo mandates.

praise the Lord for Hillsong church and every other church as well, on earth... that is true to the Lord Jesus Christ..

one other thing, why is it that when ever the Commish tries to encourage others, some select few seem intent on dragging him down..for goodness sake... let a blog be a blog...

and let this awesome man of God be, what God has called him to be and placed him in Australia to be.

we need this man... right now in our country and Commish !!! please.. thankyou for the encouragement of the body of Christ and giving recognition where its due.

(a fellow officer in australia)& anonymous, only because I dont want to appear to be a flannel sucker.

Dictionary anyone?

In fact, I have been to Hillsong, been to the conference, had family who go there - my point is not to knock them as a church, but to query the mention of their donation above other churches - if there's one thing Hillsong doesn't need it is more publicity!

Now friends, can we maintain Christian civility here? This is a place where we lift each other up and resist being negatively critical. You know I don't leave comments that put others down. I suggest you take those thoughts to the Lord in prayer.

With gentle respect, I have no interest in comparing; one group of believers with another, there is simply one church one body of believer’s one leader.

I confess that I have not been to a "Hill song" meeting I have interacted with representatives of "Hill song in Northern China, good and dear friends. I have been impressed with the slick marketing and the fun. But I doubt that there is sacrilege in that.
I very much wish all my fellow travelers in the way of Christ a non boring trip. The tags we give ourselves I believe are invisible to the Savior who knows no Salvation Army nor Pentecostal nor Anglican but who knows only those who are saved through the shed blood and merits of Jesus.
Every time I do though, stand on the hilltops in Inner and Outer Mongolia with the horsetails and flags whipping in the breeze only one song comes to mind.

"On every hill our Savior dies and not on Calvaries hill alone."

we are not in competition- I believe TC was excited because in amongst this tragedy God is raising up all in a spirit of compassion & generosity and that is not just us "Christians" Also the churches are coming together as one in Christ Praise God. Don't ruin that- the verse TC left us with is shows the point he was trying to make. This is an amazing thing God is doing through all this

A gentle misunderstanding between Christians may I suggest it becomes a matter of prayer rather than angst?

"The tags we give ourselves I believe are invisible to the Savior..."

this resonates with me Beijing. I believe it is well said. Thank you.

Perhaps not completely "invisible" to Him per se, but certainly not his primary consideration. If I may be so bold to assume what he may or may not be paying attention too.

Anyway, less you misunderstand me Beijing, that was a compliment.:-)

May God continue with you and your family in blessed ways in China.

You too in Australia Jim. Congrats on the grand baby.

And $150,000 is a fantastic effort from Hillsong church, they are very generous. And their music is great, and helps many people to worship God. There are also many aspects of Hillsong church that I do not agree with.
