Learning to Lean

We used to sing a chorus that went like this:

"Learning to lean (2X)
I'm learning to lean on Jesus
Finding more power than I've ever dreamed,
I'm learning to lean on Jesus."

This is a good posture for all of us. We attempt to be so self sufficient and independent. It isn't necessary or even God's plan. As a loving parent, He wants us to lean on Him. He's dependable.

Deuteronomy 7:9 (MSG)
9 Know this: God, your God, is God indeed, a God you can depend upon. He keeps his covenant of loyal love with those who love him and observe his commandments for a thousand generations.

Proverbs 3: 5 & 6 from the Message Translation

"Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track.

A verse I've needed to learn and practise, especially the listening....but also its a comfort to know God loves us and cares for us...we can lean on Him
